Immune Modulator

Ovagen

Also known as: EDL, Glu-Asp-Leu

Research use only · not FDA-approved research only

Ovagen is a synthetic tripeptide (Glu-Asp-Leu, EDL) short-peptide bioregulator developed by Vladimir Khavinson and colleagues at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology, marketed as a liver/gastrointestinal bioregulator. The Khavinson group reports it modulates gene expression in hepatocytes and GI mucosal epithelium via direct peptide-DNA interaction, with proposed effects on protein synthesis and hepatocellular repair. Evidence is limited to single-group preclinical and small clinical work; it is not FDA-approved and lacks independent Western validation. Reported CAS numbers conflict across sources, so no CAS Registry Number is asserted here.
