Growth Hormone Secretagogues

MGF

Also known as: Mechano Growth Factor, IGF-1Ec, IGF-1 Ec

Research use only · not FDA-approved research only

Mechano Growth Factor is the C-terminal E-domain peptide derived from IGF-1Ec, a splice variant of insulin-like growth factor 1 that is expressed locally and transiently in skeletal muscle in response to mechanical loading or damage. After cleavage from the IGF-1 precursor, the 24-amino-acid MGF E-peptide acts independently of the IGF-1 receptor, helping activate quiescent satellite (muscle stem) cells to support muscle repair and hypertrophy. Synthetic MGF is the unmodified peptide and is degraded rapidly in body fluids; the related PEG-MGF kept in this directory is the pegylated form, in which polyethylene glycol (and typically a stabilizing D-amino-acid substitution) is attached to extend half-life. MGF is not FDA-approved and is a grey-market research compound with no controlled human efficacy data.

Spontaneous self-assembly of mangiferin in an aqueous medium into vesicles for anticancer drug encapsulation and antibacterial applications

Natural products exhibiting spontaneous vesicular self-assembly are rare. Mangiferin, a natural xanthonoid, was isolated from the rhizome of the fern Davallia solida . Herein, we demonstrate that mangiferin spontaneously self-assembles in aqueous and organic-aqueous binary solutions, forming stable spherical vesicles.

Comprehensive molecular profiling of the African swine fever virus in Korean wild boars between 2019 and 2024

African swine fever (ASF), caused by the African swine fever virus (ASFV), is a lethal transboundary disease. Since its first detection in South Korea in 2019, ASFV has continuously infected wild boars, imposing major economic and ecological burdens.
